PC United Division III-G playoff CHAMPIONS! The Burgundy team played solid defense to win the championship game 3-1.  Ashley Frazier came through with yet another 2 pt. goal from long distance in the first half.  This ended up being the difference in the game.  The remaining portion of the game was hard fought by both teams wth each suffering own goals.  Erin Lineberry again had a great game with several saves to help seal the PC United victory.  GREAT JOB PC UNITED CHAMPIONS!!!!

Both teams make it to the Semifinal round! The Gold team had a tough road Saturday, Feb. 10th.  They were able to impressively win their quarterfinal game 4-1 with some fantastic team play but lost in the semifinal 2-3 against the team that finished in 1st place during the regular season.   The Burgundy team had a bye in the quarterfinals and won an exciting semifinal game against a tough New River Blue team Sunday night.  This game was tied 3-3 at the end of regulation and after two 3 minute Overtime periods.  It came down to a shootout format (3 vs 3) in which Erin Lineberry scored the first shot and then shutout the opponents with 3 saves to win the game. 

I am so proud of how our ladies have done in their first year playing this sport.  The always courteous BISL staff has remarked on how much we have progressed during the season.  Over the last year, I have seen our soccer maturity level grow exponentially and really feel we have improved to the next level of play.   There will be a lot of surprised teams in the River Ridge District this year when they face the Lady Cougars!   -Dale

A New Sport: Yet another first for the Pulaski County Girls Soccer program!  In a continuing effort to grow their sport, the PC girls have formed two indoor soccer teams to play in the Blacksburg Indoor Soccer League.  As coaches, we want to provide every opportunity for these young ladies to improve their game and have fun in the process.  Indoor soccer is a fast paced game which will place focus on ball handling skills and teamwork.  The season starts the first weekend in December and runs through the first week of March. 

THANK YOU to Dr. Bridget Parsons, Principal,  Asst. Principal Linda Edwards at Pulaski Elem. School, and Mr. Ron Nichols for giving us gym time to learn a new sport!!!!!  There is love and support in the county for our girls!  Thank You from all of us!
